What is Louisiana Lickers Sauce?

Louisiana Lickers Sauce is a flavorful and spicy sauce made with a combination of Red Hot wing sauce, sweet and spicy BBQ sauce, granulated garlic, cayenne pepper, Parmesan cheese, and Cajun seasoning.

Ingredients

  • 48g Red Hot Wing Sauce (Mild)
  • 32g Sweet and Spicy BBQ Sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

How to make Louisiana Lickers Sauce

Step 1:

Combine the Red Hot Wing Sauce and Sweet and Spicy BBQ Sauce in a medium bowl. Mix well.

Step 2:

Stir in the granulated garlic, cayenne pepper, grated Parmesan cheese, and Cajun seasoning until well blended.

Step 3:

Pour the mixture into a small saucepan and place it over medium heat.

Step 4:

Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 5:

Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool slightly before using.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to control the spiciness. Start with a smaller amount and add more if you prefer extra heat.
  • If you like your sauce sweeter, add a bit of honey or brown sugar. Taste as you go to find your preferred balance.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese melts better and adds a richer flavor compared to pre-grated varieties.
  • Choose a high-quality sweet and spicy BBQ sauce for the best results. The flavor of the BBQ sauce will significantly impact the overall taste.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, simmer it on low heat for a few minutes until it reaches the desired consistency.

How to use Louisiana Lickers Sauce

To use your Louisiana Lickers Sauce, I recommend starting with classic chicken wings. Toss freshly fried or baked wings in the sauce while they’re hot to ensure a spicy, tangy coating. It also makes an excellent dipping sauce for chicken tenders, fries, veggies, or mozzarella sticks.

As a marinade, let chicken, pork, or beef soak in the sauce for a few hours or overnight to enhance the meat’s flavor and tenderness. Spread it on burgers or sandwiches for a spicy twist, or brush it onto ribs during the last few minutes of grilling or baking for a sticky, delicious glaze. Adding it to wraps or tacos can also elevate the flavor of your favorite fillings, such as grilled chicken, beef, or veggies.
